Gen Z Education and Communication Leadership Program

November 25th, 2019

Starting 2020-2021 STVIS will welcome interns for our Gen-Z Education and Communication Leadership Program. This program will allow young university students from the UK and US to understand Gen Z in India and develop a better understanding of the education system in India. The internship has a five-pronged approach (Teach, Create, Explore, Learn and Research) to give students a better understanding of the most lucrative sector in India: Education.

More about the Gen Z Education and Communication Leadership Program

Novermber 25th, 2019

The next generation of leaders — dubbed Generation Z, or iGen are walking the corridors of Indian schools. Indian Government issued reports predict that approx. 35 percent of India’s population will consist of young people, from the age of 15 to 24, by 2020. With international headlines highlighting that over half of the country’s population is under the age of 25 and with 600 million young people, these young people are set to change the world. They have become of paramount interest for scholars, entrepreneurs and future leaders across the world.

Teach English or any subject you feel comfortable teaching to classes from P. Nursery to 8th grade. The students will also have the opportunity to facilitate hobby classes. This means if you have a skill such as swimming, singing, cricket, football or painting, you can design your own hobby class for school students.

Learn conversational Hindi or Punjabi and familiarize yourself with the devnagri or Gurmukhi script through our beginner's language classes taught by qualied language instructors. You will also be gaining insight into the most lucrative sector in India: Education. By providing support to the Assistant Director of Enrichment & Operations and Assistant Director of Business & Operations, you will gain insight into the workings of secondary schools in India.

Research about a topic related to your setting! This is a great opportunity for rst-time eldworkers studying anthropology, cultural studies or women's studies to make their experience a case study. Students will be required to nish research ethics approval by their university department.

Explore one of the seven wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal in Agra, on our weekend excursions. STVIS will also be taking you to see the monuments like Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Lotus Temple in New Delhi, and scenic hill-stations like Mussoorie, the green city of Chandigarh and the pink city Jaipur.

Create innovative projects by assisting our admissions team with strategy, outreach, social media campaigns and event management. You can pick a project that you will need to complete by the end of the internship. Projects can range from creating a student handbook, designing the student prospectus, directing a school play and presenting it, create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for day-to-day Operations, designing and executing an admissions outreach event, or guide students with college applications.

My Journey with Basketball ’: By Aarush Chauhan

‘Ouch!,’ I shouted.

I was dribbling the basketball to the hoop when my friend Sarthak came to snatch the ball from me. In the process, accidentally, I fell on the ground. Quickly, my friend Garvit helped me up. I got control of the ball again and I dribbled the ball to the basket and shot it in the hoop. That day, we won by 5 points and defeated the opponent team.

It felt amazing to win! Especially since I remember the first day, I played basketball. It was a slightly warm day. There was no breeze making it feel hotter than it was temperature wise. I was wearing my school uniform and I walked to the basketball court in my school campus. There I saw Tanya Ma’am playing. Her ponytail was flying in the air and she was speeding across the court with great swiftness. The ball, firmly, in her control. I was in awe.

‘Yaayyyy,’ everyone shouted! She had scored.

In that moment, I knew I wanted to learn how to play basketball. I asked Tanya Ma’am, ‘Ma,am I want to play with you.’ She immediately nodded in approval. From there on, everyday I learnt new techniques in dribbling, shooting and jumping. Each day, I practice basketball to improve my game.

My journey with basketball continues and I hope to get better day by day.

“How I found my passion for tennis”

Meet Aryan Ghanghas of 5th Class from St. Vivekanand International school (Jagadhri) and read his story!!

It was a sunny day in Nehru Park sometime two months ago. My father took me to watch a real tennis game. I joined a tennis game myself and I felt that I can play many hours. Now I practice everyday from Saturday to Saturday for two hours in the evening from 5:30 to 7:30.
I go to practice with my father who encourages me to play tennis. He plays his own game.
I have many tennis friends. I am happy to have friends outside of school also. Their names are Hridyanshu, Arjun and Ashish. They also play tennis very well. I learn from them also.

My favorite player is Leander Adrian Paes. I watch him and try to be like him. He plays a great game and I always watch him and try to imitate him. I wish I can play as good as him.My mother also comes to watch me play tennis but sometimes, she is not able to meet me at practice.

Sachin Sir and Deepak Sir help me play tennis and inspire me to reach my full potential. I am happy and grateful that they teach me everyday. When I get tired, I tell myself that I must play to become a great player. As much as I like tennis, I also like my tennis accessories. My favorite tennis shoes are Artango and my favorite racket is from Artango also.

If I lose a match, I will try again and try to defeat my opponent.
